The Government of Telangana’s Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme or కళ్యాణ లక్ష్మిపధకం, also known as Shaadi Mubarak, is a welfare scheme that provides financial assistance for marriages. It is a novel scheme for all poor people in the state. The program provides a total of Rs 1,00,116 in aid to prevent child marriages and assist financially vulnerable families with wedding expenses. By March 2018, the number of people who had received aid had risen to Rs.3,50,000.
Financial assistance will be transferred to the bride’s or her mother’s account so that the wedding can go off without a hitch. The Telangana government has declared that the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme has two components:
- Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam – for the Hindu minorities below the poverty line.
- Shaadi Mubarak – for the Muslim community brides- with annual Income Limit: Rs.2,00,000/-

Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme Eligibility Criteria 2021:
- The applicant should be a state citizen.
- The bride must be at least 18 years old.
- The bride’s family must be from a BC, SC, ST, EBC, or Minority background.
- SC/ST with an annual income of less than Rs 2,00,000 and BC/EBC/OBC with an annual income of more than Rs 2,00,000: Below Rs 2,00,000/- in the city, and Rs 1,50,000/- in the nation.
Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme Documents Needed
To apply for the scheme in 2021, the applicant must request the following documents:
- Aadhaar card is a government-issued identification card.
- The qualified authority issues the bride’s birth certificate.
- Certificate of Caste
- Certificate of Income (Its should be drawn before 6 months before marriage)
- Information of the bride’s and bride’s mother’s bank accounts
- Wedding Invitations (optional)
- VRO/Panchayath Secretary Approval Certificate for Marriage Confirmation
